Autogate System Installed 24 Years Ago
Today, we received a phone call from an old customer, someone we’ve worked with for many years. It was a pleasant surprise to hear from him, as 24 years ago, we installed an underground autogate system for his property. He mentioned that the system has been running smoothly all these years, without a single issue. It’s amazing to hear that a system we installed so long ago is still performing reliably, and it really highlights the quality of the work we do. He expressed his satisfaction with our service back then and said that even after all these years, the system still works just as well as it did when it was first installed. This really makes us proud of the work we put into each project, knowing that our customers can depend on us even after decades. He has only replaced the autogate remote control 433mhz once and the autogate battery every few years. The autogate transformer and autogate control panel have been working fine throughout the years.
It has been used for 24 years, and I think this is the best value you can get from an autogate system. But it also depends on luck and usage. Some of my customers have been using theirs for around 15 years, which is much less. This customer has four cars parked inside his compound. In the morning, everyone goes to work and only returns in the evening. He retired just 10 years ago. Every morning, he goes to the wet market to do his shopping, then returns home. After that, he goes out again for lunch and comes back once more in the afternoon. Only on weekends are there a lot of activities in the house, as the son-in-law and sister-in-law come to visit.

Some Issues With Underground Autogate
Recently, his autogate has been having some issues where the left-side underground motor sometimes doesn’t close fully. It stops halfway. He opened up the cover and noticed that there was water inside, and the gearbox was submerged in the water. It seems like the powder-like substance has accumulated around the gearbox. According to the customer, he likes to wash his car weekly and also washes the floor after washing the car. He noticed that there are bubbles coming out from the autogate motor. It might be that the autogate gasket has worn out, that makes the water to penetrate into the gearbox. Another common autogate issue is that the lock is usually installed on the right-side gate leaf. If the bearing wears out and causes the gate to drop, the lock can scratch the rubber stopper and prevent the gate from closing fully. There is also a small knob on the autogate lock that triggers the bolt to drop into the rubber stopper’s hole. There is also a small knob on the autogate lock that triggers the bolt to drop and retract into and from the rubber stopper’s hole. This knob needs to touch the gate to activate the mechanism.

More Cost Effective To Replace With ZKRON Autogate
I explained to the customer that their autogate system is very old and contains many autogate components, such as oil seals, autogate mini DC motor, gaskets, autogate gearbox, gears, a shaft, and several other autogate parts. While the autogate mini DC motor is available today, and we can replace it for them, what happens if the gears spoil and have an issue next week? If those gears are not available, they may be forced to replace the whole autogate system, after already spending money on the autogate mini DC motor and labour. It’s like repairing an old car—a never-ending process. It’s not that underground autogates are bad, but they are outdated. It’s more cost-effective to replace them with a new autogate system, such as the ZKRON autogate.
